The dial starts from the horizon: a flat line splits the face into sky above and ground below, and the sun and moon hands move across it in real time. The hours compress and stretch with the true length of day and night at your location. Longer days fill more of the face.
Know exactly when to look
Moon Details names the single best time to catch the moon tonight, which way to face, and how high the moon will be. A plain-language cloud forecast from Apple Weather tells you what the night sky will actually show, like "mostly clear, with a cloudy spell around 9."
Your real horizon
aluni knows the shape of the land wherever you are, so viewing times account for the actual hills and ridges around you. Moon Details draws that skyline under the moon's path, including where the land drops away below you.
Moon Finder
Can't find the moon outside? Turn your phone like a compass, and soft clicks guide you straight to it. Your real skyline and the stars around the moon help you spot it. If the moon is too close to the sun to look for safely, Moon Finder says so and offers a reminder for the next good night.
Reminders and a Live Activity
Tap the bell on tonight's viewing window, and aluni nudges you before it opens. A Live Activity counts down on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, showing the real moon on tonight's path over your own horizon. Afterward, it asks once if you saw it.
Moon phase, illumination, and the four sky events
See exactly where the moon is in its cycle, new moon through full moon, and how much of it is lit right now, alongside sunrise, sunset, moonrise, and moonset, with countdowns to the next event and times for the one after that.
A month of moon phases
The lunar calendar shows every phase of the month, with supermoons and micromoons marked. Long-press a day for a quick peek, or tap the month to jump to any date.
Quiet alerts
Pick the alerts you want: a daily moon report, a nudge 55 minutes before the moon rises or sets, and alerts for full moons, new moons, and first and last crescents. Each one tells you when to look, where, and how long you have.
Widgets for every surface
A live clock on your iPhone home screen, Lock Screen, and StandBy. Choose from widget styles including Timeless, Orbital, The Dance, The Concise, and The Precisionist, in light, dark, or automatic appearance. The Style Linked with App widget matches whatever clock you set up in the app, and on iOS 27 it can fill a whole home screen page with a sky almanac.
Lock Screen scenes
A small living scene on your Lock Screen: the sun and moon ride a real skyline that shifts from day to night. The classic look is free, and aluni+ adds nine landscapes, from Forest Ridgeline to Bridge Over Water.
Apple Watch
Put the Scenic Clock on your watch face, or add a complication that shows tonight's most useful moon moment: the next moonrise, moonset, or the start of the best viewing window. In the Smart Stack, it rises to the top as that window gets close.
